Hi Karen, Russell,

Although probably meant well advising Russell to use a module that was not
written for this card is not a good thing to do. Please stick with the 3c509
driver!
Although I can't remember if this card was automatically detected on my
systems (I guess it is, at least on RH 6.2) I have never had any problems
with these cards. Just add the entries
alias eth0 3c509
options 3c509 irq=<irq>
to modules.conf.
Set the proper irq. You could change the IRQ used by the card using the DOS
utilities for it. Note that when the card was configured for use on an EISA
bus you will not be able to reconfigure the IRQ on an ISA bus, but you can use
the card with it's current IRQ.
Bye,
Leonard.
