A bug in APMSLEEP?

- Subject: A bug in APMSLEEP?
- Date: Fri, 1 Jun 2001 15:36:26 -0400 (EDT)
All,
Today I used APMSLEEP to put my laptop into suspend mode...
% apmslepp --suspend 2:00
APMSLEEP dutifully put the machine into a suspend mode and I went out for
lunch. After lunch I punched the reset button on the machine and
everything came back as expected... except the network. The eth0
interface dissapeared, and the network PCMCIA card was no longer
recognized. Pump (I get my IP address from DHCP) also failed. Well ya...
the interface is gone.
I used kudzu to reacquire the card. Kudzu reports that the
hardware is new and offers to Configure, Ignore or Skip. I
choose Ignore which was probably not what I wanted (but I didn't
want to reconfigure the card either.... it should already be
configured).
I rebooted the machine and Kudzu reacquired the card configuration and all
is well, however it should not have lost the card just because of
APMSLEEP.
This doesn't seem like desirable behavior at all. Have I done something
wrong or should it be reported?
