Hi jack
for just routing the mails outside you dont need a real IP but just a
connection to the internet. if you have a dedicated link to internet connect
it to your linux box ( See NETWORK HOW TO in www.redhat.com
documentation.) . But for receiving the mails from out side world you need
to have a MX ( mail exchange) record enable in your ISP. By putting one more
lan card you will make the work easier that is one lan card for you local
network and the other one for the out side world. Make sure the gateway is
present only in your lan card connected to the BAD side ( ie ... out side
world). Try downloading a package called
"install sendmail" from www.linux.org this script will guide you in the
installation process.
