Re: installing jdk for linux

Hi adi

About the path setting going after reeboot. Try setting the path in the root/.bash_profile of the particular user.

Subject: installing jdk for linux

Hi,

Could someone, please tell me how do I install jdk1_2_2.i386.tar? I tryed the comand tar zxf jdk1_2_2.i386.tar and set the path to /.../jdk1.2.2/bin and /.../jdk1.2.2/lib. When I try to compile file.java with the javac comand I get "segmentation fault" error message.
And another question: why doesn't the path remain set to /.../jdk.... after reboot? Isn't the export PATH="$PATH:/.../jdk...." the right comand? Or I have to do something else after setting the path?
I have RH7 and Windows98 instaled on a Cyrix 200MHz with 32 ram .
Thanks in advance.

Adi
