Re: Linux Newbie

Glenn,

I would like to thank you and all of the other people who have responded to my post.  I have a ton of resources to go with now.  I'm looking forward to this new project.  I have bought several new Linux books, and I'm thinking about purchasing the one that you recommended as well.  I hope that I can contribute back once I get started.

Kevin-

If you know NT, or even if you don't, I would strongly recommend Linux for NT/2000 Administrators (Sybex) by Mark Minasi.  I give it 5 stars.

Subject: Linux Newbie

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some places where I can learn Linux.  I found this board, but the topics are still a little over my head.  Would you mind recommending some books, authors, or other resources you used when you were first learning?  I'm a systems admin/programmer who is interested in a business implementation of Linux, but I need some basic experience first.  With that in mind, some other intermediate resources on Linix administration or networking would be helpful since I'm going to get into that eventually.

Microsoft is a growing and expensive pain in the ass.  Tired of dealing with it.  I would appreciate the help!
