It appears that we have corrupted our LILO boot program.
When the system reboots, it gets stuck after displaying
half of the LILO prompt, ie literally displaying "LI".
The RH 7.1 system can be restarted using a recovery floppy.
>From that, I can also see /etc/lilo.conf and check all the
kernel boot files listed in that configuration file.
I have tried a few methods in the hope of correcting
the master book record, but without much luck.
I have tried
a. using the command lilo -v,
b. linuxconf to specify the boot device being /dev/sda1 where /boot is,
and also /dev/sda,
c. lisa - but this fails as there is no configuration file lisarc.
Can anyone shed some light how to rectify this?
