Configuring xawtv-3.53

Hello all,

I'm trying & trying & trying to get my Hauppauge Wintv card working under
Redhat 6.2, with no luck I might add.  So far I've installed xawtv-3.53 with
no problem, as far as I know.  I don't know how to configure/compile the
kernel ( 2.2.14 ) so that I can probe for the modules, tuner.o etc.  Can
anyone give me any pointers to help me get my TV working ?

When I type 'xawtv' at a terminal prompt nothing happens, I'm sure you could
with an ealier version, maybe its not installed properly ?  I really have no
idea.
