I am currently in the mist of a project to upgrade a server with a large number
of users from a FreeBSD system to Red Hat 7.1 . So far everything seems to be
working fine. Although, I am now hit with the problem of converting the password
file from freebsd master.passwd to redhat's /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow.
Does anyone know how to accomplish this without having to do everything
manually? I was told I could use perl to do the conversion, but I am not
great with perl and if someone has already done this before it would be a great
help. Both machines are using MD5 for encryption by the way.
