libcap

I get a dependencies error when installing an application.
It asks for the libcap >= 0.4 is needed by snort-1.7.1

I was able to find "libpcap-0.4-29-i386.rpm" what seems to be the latest for
RH7 but I get lots of dependencies for application like koffice, groff, kde
etc.
It doesn't like the libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 to be replaced.

Where can I find a later version for libcap or is it save to force the
install?
