I'm running RH 7.0 with the 2.4.2 kernel. I'm trying to use the
ide-scsi module to control my IDE CD-RW drive (and my IDE tape
drive). Things appear to work, except that before after I boot I
need to run 'cdrecord -scanbus' as root once before the cdrom can be
accessed.
Is there any way to have the boot process do the right thing so I
can avoid the manual "'cdrecord -scanbus' as root" step? Is the
some documentation that explains the ide-scsi emulation process
(beside what appears in the CD writing HOWTO)?
