Ciro,
Go ahead and install in text mode. This isn't a bug, it is a feature. :)
The installer is designed to default to text mode when it doesn't
recognize your video card. This may or may not be bad, depending on the
exact model of video card you have. It may be that X will not work at all
on your computer. More information is available here:

Which basically tells you that the Savage IX in this system is not
supported by XFree86 3.3.6, and you need a patched SVGA server. Good luck
