two linux kernels installed by RH7?

I installed RH7.0  in my machine and  when I booted
I see the following LILO options

Linux
Linux-up
windows


tried linux and linux-up

linux appears to be running  kernel -2.2.16-smp
lunix-up appears to run kernel-2.2.16

I tried both options, linux-up recognizes my PCMCIA
card, but the *smp version does not.

Why do I have these two alternatives installed?
Should I remove *smp?
