I believe some HSP modems have manual jumpers as well as the PNP selection.
Most of these are not winmodems.
If you check the documentation on your modem you might be able to set the
jumpers to any com setting you desire.
Although I have had bad luck with these manual settings under windows the
linux may see the modem?
