RedHat/base/hdlist question ?

please tell me if i'm asking on the wrong list
since we are about to setup 245 machines, i got this
brainstorm,
to fold all the redhat rpm updates into the
RedHat/RPMS directory
so that we could install 6.2 (or 7.0 for that matter)
_with_ updates
in one step.
after merging all the updates into the RPMS directory
the install breaks because the file hdlist apparently
has version info
for bash and glibc (that i've found so far)
i know we _could_ setup a post-install in a kickstart
and if generating a new hdlist is problematic then i
guess we'd have
to go the post-install route
thanks,
