I don't think the list allows attachments. Besides, it is much better
to simply quote the lines in question than transfer files around.
It doesn't matter. I believe you, although that does seem a bit odd.
If you're serious about not using DNS, you could try removing its
mention here, although I don't really see how that will help.

Yes, this goes in your reverse zone for the subnet.

Better yet, take a look at the HOWTO:

I highly recommend using DNS, as constantly running around
updating hosts files is not a very fun thing to do.
