Printing woes

Hi all,

I have  a laserjet 1100 on my local RH 6.2 SAMBA server . It works great
with the
Laserjet 4 dithered filter . All the Win98s on the Lan can access the
printer perfectly .
I've installed it as a SMB printer on my RH workstation . But I cannot print
... what i get instead
is a box saying " lpr: cannot  open %s " ..does this have anything to do
with permissions ?
When I had installed RH on this notebook earlier, the printer worked fine
..but i can't for the life of
 me imagine, whats gone wrong this time !!
