Re: problems with installing Redhat7



Try booting the installation with this:

linux nousb

from the initial LILO boot: menu.  Ten bucks says you have a Presario
5000.:)  There was a problem with the USB controller chipset in those
machines (and others), all Via motherboards -- Apollo Pro and others
around that time.  Once you install, use that same command line (CTRL-X to
get out of the splash screen) to boot and then go into /etc/modules.conf
and remove the USB entries.  There is supposed to be an Alexandria (the
knowledge base) entry on this -- I'm looking into that.
