Network configuration

Gentle folks,

I wonder what should be included into /etc/conf.modules in order network
adapter to be recognized by RH 6.2 (I suppose lines starting with: alias
... and options ...).

My network card is UMC UM9008 PNP that is on I/O 220 and IRQ5. As long
as I have seen until now, netconfig and Gnome's ControlPanel, Network
Configuration don't handle hardware settings, so the only result I get
for eth0 is [FAILED] at boot.
