ls -l gives me slocate

Hello everyone,

I have this problem, when I get an listing of a directory with ls -l I get the following resuls:

-r--r--r-- 1 20 slocate 305 Feb 5 12:05 READ_ME

drwxr-xr-x 2 20 slocate 4096 Feb 5 12:06 bin

drwxr-xr-x 7 20 slocate 4096 Feb 5 12:06 demo

drwxr-xr-x 3 20 slocate 4096 Feb 5 12:05 document

drwxr-xr-x 2 20 slocate 4096 Feb 5 12:06 dsolib

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Mar 21 15:49 error.txt

drwxr-xr-x 22 20 slocate 4096 Feb 5 12:06 houdini

-r--r--r-- 1 20 slocate 2432 Feb 5 12:05 houdini_setup

drwxr-xr-x 2 20 slocate 4096 Feb 5 12:06 huninstall

Except for one file I created as a root I get this slocate when executing ls -l. What does that mean? What caused this and can I change it? Is this why I cannot execute such files even when the user triad has the x?

Thx,

Ziggy
