i'm a newbie. I have heard of StarOffice but not Applixware. so, coming from

I am taking the plunge for either Applixware or StarOffice, but I don't how
they rate.  Any real experience using any of them?   My main concern is
being able to read Word or Excel documents.  I get those a lot.
