Hello everyone. Once again let me ask for you advice.
On a RedHat 6.1 system, we have set up a ftp server, using wu-ftp. From
our LAN (which has a dedicated connection to the Internet), it appears
that the server is working fine. From remote computers, it also appears
that the server is working fine. Files can be downloaded and all.
However, when I used a dialup modem from one of our LAN computers (temp.
disconnected from the LAN) to test the connection to our ftp server, I
cannot connect/login to the ftp server.
The message on the ftp server's /var/message file shows the following:
inetd[473]: auth/tpc: bind: Address already in use.
Since I am just learning about tpc and bind, I am not sure what this
mesage means. Is there a problem with our ftp configuration, network
settings or bind settings that stops ftp service to dial up connections
to our hosts but allows connections from other remote computers.
I am sorry if my question is silly or does not make sense. Thanks in
advance.
Caroline
