Subject: Kernel upgrade

Don't know if I should ask this here or not but here goes.

If I have two identical machines (A and B) and compile the kernel on one machine. What would be stopping me from just copying the kernel compiled for machine A onto Machine B and using that kernel to boot with.

Assume none of the kernel components were compiled as modules even though the kernel has module support.
