You need to use both hosts.allow and hosts.deny. In mine, I have the
following:
hosts.allow:
ALL: localhost
ALL: .ourldsfamily.com
ALL: .work.com
..and some others..
hosts.deny:
ALL: ALL
If you deny everything, then only allow what you specifically know to be
good, you will have fewer problems. Don't think this will stop email and web
traffic, however. It won't. This only restricts ftp and telnet, among a few
others.
