Whereas this is not an answer to your question it's a recommendation.
Check out
http://www.sentry.net/~obsid/IPTables/rc.scripts.dir/current/rc.firewa
ll.iptables.dual. This is a quick, extensive, iptables firewall
script. Why not just masq your network when you can protect it to?

Subject: IP forwarding

Hello all !

I have installed a redhat 7.1 machine to make it my
proxy and to do masquerading at the same time.
I have two ethernet cards eth0 with public adress
193.xxx.xxx.xxx and eth1 with 192.168.1.1

I gave the following command to do masquerading:

#/sbin/iptables -A FORWARD -s
192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 -j ACCEPT

After that i got the following error:
Note: /etc/modules.conf is more recent than
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/modules.dep
/lib/modules/2.4.2-2/kernel/net/ipv4/neetfilter/ip_tables.o
init_modules : device or resource busy

What can I do to activate the NAT

Best regards
Mohamedou
