help needed with SiS900 network interface

Guys,

Trying to set up my ethernet card on RedHat 7. My modules.conf files has
an entry as follows:
alias eth0 sis900

I checked the startup message with dmesg command and found that it said:
eth0: Error EEPROM read: 0

I also tried 'insmod sis900' and got the following message:
.../sis900.o: init_module: Device or resource busy

Something is obviously wrong .. could somebody help me in getting my
network interface up?
