I have downloaded 2 files
enigma-i386-disc1-ja.iso
enigma-i386-disc2.iso
and checked MD6 SUMS. Using Easy CD Creator 5, I have made
2 disks from CD images.
My PC is Dell Dimensions XPS R400MHz PII with 128 MB
RAM.
I have partitioned the HDD into 3 parts with Windows 98
SE, Windows 2000, and for RHL.
There are 2GB for RHL, and it was formatted to ext2
by PartitionMagic 5.
There is another partition of 650MB formatted for the
swap.
As soon as I started the installation, I got
Unable to align partition properly. This probably means
that another partition tool generated an incorrect partition table, because
it didn't have the correct BIOS geometry. It is safe to ignore, but ignoring may
cause (fixable) problems.
I set no formatting, and proceeded to install. It was to
install about 1300 MB, but after about 1100 MB, I got
this warning twice:
Gdk warning - Missing charsets in FontSet creation
JIS X 0208.1983-0 JIS X 0201.1976-0 I guess these are for the Japanese fonts.
Then
Install exited abnormally.
Sending termination signals ... done Sending kill ｓignals ... done disabling SWAP /tmp/hda6 /mnt/runtime done unmounting file system.. It did not ask the second CD.
After the aborted installation, I checked the HDD by PM5,
which says
PartitionMagic detected an error 116 on the partition
starting a sector 25479152. The starting LBA value is 25479152 and the CHS
value is 16450559. The LBA and CHS values must be equal. PartitonMagic has
verified that the LBA value is correct, and can fix the CHS value. Would you
