I did some additional checks this afternoon and came up with this. By default, I
didn't have a /etc/hostname file. So what I did was create one with the entry
of; 'localhost.localdomain'. When I boot the system, lpd startup works correctly
and I'm able to print to all printers. That problem is now solved but something
interested happens. The hostname entry I made is overwritten, probably by the
DHCP server at the time I am assigned an IP. I can live with this but is there a
way to communicate to the DHCP server a hostname that I chose or is this property
controlled by the Network Adminstrator?
