I've installed Red Hat 7.2 on a double
processor (Pentium III 800 MHz) with a L440GX+ motherboard and Adaptec AIC-7896
PCI Ultra2 SCSI controllers, adding, during the installation, the "APIC"
kernel argument (to be able to install I had also to type "linux apic"
after booting from the installation CD, else the system hanged on loading the
aic7xxx module). After rebooting (from the boot floppy, as Windows NT also is
installed), the system hangs with the following error messages:
scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun
0 Inquiry 00 00 00 ff 00
scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0, scsi0, channel 0, id 0, lun 0 Inquiry 00 00 00 ff 00 scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0, scsi0, channel 0, id 1, lun

scsi : aborting command due to timeout : pid 0, scsi0, channel 0, id 1, lun 0 Inquiry 00 00 00 ff 00 and so on for each "id" and "channel". I tried also to type "linux apic" at the LILO prompt, but it didn't help. The RH 7.0 installation was without problem, but I
need to upgrade my system.
Is there anyone who can help me?
Thank you in advance for your time!
