RE: Up2date issue

Yes, I encountered this very problem.  My suspicion is that something in the /boot partition could not be overwritten or updated so I cleaned out all those old ".bak" lilo entries and renamed them to the version of the linux kernel they refered to... then threw out all but the last two backup kernels (img's, map's, etc).

Now updates work fine.

Subject: Up2date issue

On two of my 7.1 machines while running the up2date program, I keep being told by the program that kernet 2.4.9-12 is available. Everytime I download it and install it I receive a message 'test install of LILO failed'. The next time I run up2date the same thing happens. Has anyone else ran across this problem?
