Re: initial Webserver setup

First of all check if your "httpd", the daemon for http is up and running, and make sure is check so it starts with every boot up.  To do so you can either use "setup" from the shell or choose the Service Configuration utility from the K menu ->System->Service Configuration.

httpd should be checked ( for which it will ask you to make sure that xinetd is checked )

That will start your web server with every boot up.  You may need to configure settings such as start page ( in case you don't want it to be the default page ).

Subject: initial Webserver setup

Good Evening All,

I am enjoying my FTP very much, thank you once again Rick and Edson!

May I ask now for a walkthru of the webserver please? Moments ago, a fellow palatian and I determined thru disabling of the palace server's download protocol that the linux box at this time has no functioning webserver.

This 7.3 server install i did select every available package, so is there a webserver there waiting to be initialized? If its a factor, please be aware I selected High security, and with DHCP allready prechecked by the install, I only checked FTP in addition, and in the custom settings I entered the upload and download ports used by the palace server software by default. Other than that the server installation was left in the capable hands of the CD install discs.

Thank you for reading,

Logan
