RE: May be OT but HELP

The is also a program much like PCA that does not have as many extras but
works great. It is called VNC. I'm not sure if it runs on Linux or not.
It is distributed freely.

Subject: May be OT but HELP

Last night I needed to reboot my Linux machine into Windows95 - I needed to
use PCAnywhere to get into my work server and do some stuff. It's been a
few weeks since I've booted into Windows and last night it hung. I had to
do a reset and ended up in Safe Mode. Did some looking around and found
nothing wrong. Rebooted and it hung again going in to windows - reset and
back into Safe Mode. After two or three of these I realized the only change
I'd made in the computer was to add a scroll mouse so I deleted the mouse
completely. No luck.

It boots fine into Linux (RH7.2).

Now for the big problem - I was going to re-install windows but now my
computer will not boot on the floppy drive - checked the BIOS and it's set
correctly, checked the drive in Linux I can read it correctly. I also tried
booting to the CD (BIOS set up correctly) but I can't boot from that either.
None of this was a problem the last time I had to re-install Windows.

Question, can any of you think of a hardware problem that would 1- not let
windows boot and 2 - disable booting from other than the hard drive?

Thanks

Brad

PS any other suggestions would be appreciated. Like a PCAnywhere substitute
for Linux?
