Sounds like good suggestions, Richard, except I can't
get on the Internet so I can't download anything. If
I do this on Windows I don't know how to get it from
the Win disk to the Linux disk. Remember I'm new at
this stuff.
The pppoe software notes also looked interesting, but
the tools are unreachable for the same reason.

Go to
http://www.redhat.com/
click on downloads and rpm updates click on internet and download a lan
connection program. lisa 3 something. If your router is connected to your
isp a lan connection is all you should need.
For pppoe software go to
http://www.roaringpenguin.com/pppoe/
Read their install guide and problem solver and free download if
needed.
You can use package manager to install the rpm which is a short download
and should be all you need.
