SONY CDU-76S & aic7xxx

Hi All,

I have troubles installing RH 8.0:
/booting from floppy (boot.img) & continuing in text mode/
When installer asks for source, I choose a) CD-ROM -> b) SCSI -> c)
...aic7xxx
The problem is that it returns (almost immediatelly) back to dialog b) (only
SCSI is displayed as the IDE controller is disabled).
There is an onboard AHA-7770 SCSI host adapter from HP.

The strange is that if I do the same when installing RH 7.1, _it founds the
CD_ !!!

Is it related to kernel or aic7xxx driver changes from 7.1 till 8.0 ?
Shall I try some module parameters ? (and which ones)

Any suggestion kindly appreciated
