RH8.0 on (hda) with RH 7.1 on (hdb) hard drive.

Last night I installed RH8.0 on a new hard drive.
I kept my old hard drive with 7.1.
Installation went very well.
I thought I was smart and I will put 7.1 as a slave on the system
so I can get some of my old things off of it.
Well once I did that the system would not boot up. 

How do I configure RH8.0 (grub) to ignore 7.1 ?
I will install it with mount to get stuff off?

Also how do I tell grub to give me  a choice RH8.0 on hda. 
Or RH 7.1 on hdb.
