OK, I may be new here, but I *have* read the archived messages, and haven't
found what I need.... :)
RedHat 8 hangs loading Initio SCSI driver on install. Tried booting with
linux dd and using the driver that came with the card. It informs me that
the version of the driver I have does not support this version of RedHat.
All 7.x releases of RedHat installed fine with this card in place, and the
default drivers. Due to positioning of the box, it's a nasty thing to pull
the card out. Anyone have an alternative?
System:
AMD Duron 1.3 GHz
ECS K7S6A with latest BIOS flash
512 MEGs DDR RAM
80 GIG Seagate 7200 RPM IDE HD with 8 MEG buffer
ATi Rage Fury Pro 32 MEG video
Kouwel PCI SCSI card using Initio 9100 AU chipset
Lite-On 48/24/48 IDE CDR-W
Sony 56x IDE CD ROM
Umax S-6E SCSI scanner
HD is currently partitioned with :
10 GIG Primary DOS (Win98SE/FAT32)
45 GIGs DOS Extended w/3 x 15 GIG FAT32 logical partitions
Remainder unpartitioned, waiting for RedHat......
