I would recommend using the Alcatel Speed Touch USB modem, and connecting
it to another machine that is running smoothwall. Smoothwall is a linux
distro that is compatible with the speedtouch, and has given me no
problems over the last year or so. Okay, so it uses up a bas unit, but I
got it running on an p1 with a usb port, and 16 megs, and it does fine.
Smoothwall comes with a web interface that allows you to interact with it,
so that you can update settings, reboot it etc. I run mine with no
keyboard and monitor.
Hope that helps!
