Well Rick I can't help you with the sister thing .. she just got married.
As far as old and comp-nerd .. I guess, in me, we already have one, just
not a savy as you .. not even in your class .. neighborhood etc ...
If you don't look like the south end of a dinosaur headed north then
I am sure you will wind up in marital bliss. Then there is the kids and
the mortage and the lawn and the rubbish on Tuesdays and the trips
in the car .. where after 300 miles a smell comes out of the back seat
that is absolutely inhuman ...... the kids don't even notice ....... and the
braces and the "Dad .. he's on my side of the seat!" and the conferences
with teachers and wondering how Mom and Dad did it and being sure
this will eventually kill you. .... and on and on and on .... but the moment
you get a second to reflect .. you want to do it again.
I have to echo the previous poster's thoughts. You and Bob M do so
much to make the list work. Sometimes a one liner answer comes out.
Big deal, anyone who has asked questions on this list knows that with
a little gentle prodding we can usually get you fellows to expound a bit.
As for the responses to the gentleman's frustrated outburst, all I can say
is I've been right where he was. If anyone out there says they have never
been that frustrated, then I suspect they have never really tried .. or wished,
as hard as he was at that moment. What gets me was the less than
charitable responses he received. I was really disappointed.
The sad part is that he may never get the help he needs now because
either he is too embarrassed or shamed or afraid to post a question
again. Now could he possibly be consider disenfranchised? Even though
I am not one for a big brother scene, it was at times like that a moderator
would have been worth their weeks salary. Post number one would
never have made it to the list thereby de facto eradicating all responses.
I don't wish to open a discussion on moderation and I am not advocating
a moderator, all I am saying is .. at that moment .. Ah, but if wishes
were fishes ....
Hang in there fellow and keep up the excellent work! You are part of
a RH treasure trove and they know it. At some point they will have
to offer you that QA job .. at big $ .. working from home in your
jammies! ;-)
I appreciate all you do.
Sincerly,
Steve Larsen
.. where did I put those kids ..
