RH 5.0 "error 2 - error reading header"

What does this error mean during the installation of RH 5.0?  This is
occurring during the installation of the extfsprogs RPM.  It gives this
error and the system shuts down and tells me to reboot.  I have tried
re-downloading the file via FTP numerous times, and I still get the same
error.  Is this file necessary? or are there some dependencies that I am not
aware of?
