I have (just) had a similar problem.
(gericom, no floppy, cdrw, ...)
Mine hang two lines below "PIIX4: not 100% ..."
(then two lines of ide-messages).

Try using "pci=off" as boot option.

(at the moment, I am installing)
However, I do not yet know how bad all that is.
I definitely want to use my internal ethernet...
