RE: Need mysql.so to make Apache/PHP/MySQL to work together (Office)

I had similar problems getting php and mysql to work together. The
conclusion I came to was that components needed for compiling mysql
support into php were not available during the install because I had not
selected all the packages required when I originally installed RH8.
Specifically the APXS program, but possibly Perl support also?

Try removing php, installing further packages that might be relavent
using the RH8 installer and then install php again.

I ended up doing a full reinstall of RH8 (all packages) because I messed
up by installing newer versions of some of the the rpms and could not
get back again! It worked fine second time round.

Good luck!
