thank you ever so much. i changed the /etc/fstab file and all is ok.

One more question, how easy is it to network winxp and rh8? also, are
there any restrictions or can it happily share printers and
directories?  I have seen there is a thing called samba. Is this
something to do with it? how do i mess with samba if it is the one???
