Good Day
I am having problem loading an IBM PC server 720 that has a MYLEX raid
card on which the CD-ROM drive is attached.. Below follows information
regarding
the machine set-up and the steps taken to load it
Redhat version 7.3
Machine Type IBM PC server 720 (8642-0Z0)
Raid adapter type D040321-4 Rev P8 (w.0.12184)
Server announces IBM RAID Adapter Bios version 1.06 July 29, 1994
IBM SCSI-2 F/W streaming Raid Adapter/A is found in slot 1........
Linux Loading Methodology
Step 1. Booted from the floppy drive using the boot.img file obtained
from disk1.
Step 2. I Chose English as the language and US as the Keyboard.
Step 3. I was then prompted for the type of CD-ROM that I had [SCSI or
OTHER], I selected SCSI
Step 4. I was then prompted to select a displayed Driver or press F2 if
I had a driver. I pressed F2 and loaded files from images/drvblock.img.
Step 5. I then selected the Mylex DAC960 Driver from the list that then
appeared. The following messages were displayed [Loading DAC960 driver]
and
[initializing CD-ROM] the installation then returned to Step 3.
After making Numerous passes from Step 3. onwards I then selected * for
the Module parameters and left Miscellaneous Blank. I was then asked to
[Please
insert the supplemental Block Device drivers now] I then inserted the
diskette from Step 4. and pressed o.k The following message came up
Failed to
mount driver disk Device or resource busy
Please provide feed back and any pointers on what I may do, with the
current hardware, to load Linux successfully
