Re: Linux network install w/o floppy or CDROM

Hi Matt,

Use pcmcia.img, to make boot floopy and try. Make sure there is support for
your pcmcia NIC.

WaveLan Silver running Redhat 7.0. The problem I have is that I'm wanting to do
is re-install the machine with a later Kernal/more complete install (as what's on
there is fairly minimal), but it has no CDROM or Floppy drive, so I'd like to use the
PCMCIA NIC and a NFS or FTP instance of the install disks on another box, but
I've not had much luck finding any info on the net which doesn't require floppies
for a network install. The theory I have is if I copy an install image over to the
machine and point lilo to the image, when asked for the source of the install
media I would specify FTP/NFS, but I don't know the exact process of going
about this and which images should be used etc. The NIC is set up and
functioning, the whole thing is running, I'm sure there's a way, but I cannot figure it
out as yet.
