Hi Everyone
I have samba installed on my red hat server...everything seems to work fine with two exceptions...
1) you can't browse the network from a windows machine, i.e if you look at the newtork with explorer it doesnt work,
2) I notice on my server that I am getting the followng error message
" master samba (pam_unix) [1599]: authentication failure; logname=uid=0 euid=0 tty=samba ruser= rhost=name_of_a_windows_macjine user=nobody"
Does anyone have any thoughts or info in the matter, as I have said the resources that I have shared work so far, but I would like to be able to browse the network and to get rid of that annoying message. As for the message I'm not quite sure, what does it mean that a machine is not being "authenticated"?
sincerley
Thomas
