Log in as root and type the following command:
smbadduser linuxloginname:name_of_a_windows_macjine
*using your spellings there; hope you don't mind*
The theory is that if you don't have a PC (netbios name, which is the same
as the name the user logged into windows with, I.e., if they cancel out of
the windows password prompt, or login with a different name they will never
connect) login name mapped to a Linux login name, they can't connect.
Of course that's assuming you are using encrypted passwords in smb.conf AND
mapping passwords to Unix passwords.
If those options aren't set, do it, then run
/etc/rc.d/init.d/smb restart
