IP address

Dear redhat users,

I am using redhat 7.2.  My computer is a stand alone and is connected to
the internet via PPP.  The IP that is assigned to my computer at the time
I dial up is dynamic.  The question is what is the command that I can use
to find out my current IP address.

The second question is how can I change the name of my computer from
localhost to neuron?  Will this change be reflected in my login prompt,
Xterm prompt ...etc.  Are there any consequences when changing the
hostname localhost to neuron?
