Thanks for the reply... I solved the problem.

But when I run ps -Af, I saw that root also run the vsftpd, is that normal?

root 13164 542 0 15:17 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/sshd
root 13165 13164 0 15:17 pts/0 00:00:00 -bash
root 13200 12141 0 15:21 ? 00:00:00 vsftpd
vsftp 13202 13200 0 15:21 ? 00:00:00 vsftpd
root 13203 13165 0 15:21 pts/0 00:00:00 ps -Af

Do you have vsftp launched manually or by xinetd? If by xinetd, it's not uncommon to have the thing run as root until someone logs in. Once the user logs in, the ownership will change to that of the logged-in user. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- - Rick Stevens, SSE, VitalStream, Inc. rstevens vitalstream com - - 949-743-2010 (Voice) http://www.vitalstream.com - - - - Overweight: When you step on your dog's tail...and it dies. - ----------------------------------------------------------------------
