How much ram do you have? Is the same amount shown with the command

free

What type of video board do you have? How much memory? Is it shared or
does it have its own memory?

How large of a desktop are you using?

What windowmanager do you use? KDE? Gnome/Sawfish? FVWM?

How big is your swap? (Can be found in the "free" command above.) How
much is being used?

That'll do for starters.
