Mary, I cloned my system more than a year or so ago. Specifically, it was a
single hard drive configured for dual-booting Win95 and Linux [Rh6?].
"Ghosting" programs somehow didn't quite work for me, so I eventually did it
the "hard" but more transparent way.
Basically, I followed the "Hard Disk Upgrade Mini How-To". This clones one
IDE drive onto another. You'll need to feel comfortable with partitioning
programs [fdisk or cfdisk] and LILO [look up the relevant How-To's & other
info].
As to whether such cloning will work with a CD as the destination & whether
such a CD will boot is well beyond me. Need to bring in some experts for
that. Hope this helps.

Hi,
I have one Dell Workstation 530 that has Redhat 7.1 and other files and
data.
What is the easiest way so that I clone the files and OS on that machine to
any other machines? I heard something about kickstart, but I am not too
sure about it. Now other machines are different in terms of hardware. Is
that workable? I mean the bottom line is that I would like just carry a CD
and then load the CD to other machines and then everything will work. I am
very new at this. Please help.
Mary
