Anything is possible.
What type of hardware is it? That's where to begin, not trying to get us
to guess what you have that can crash things.
Could be controller, video, SCSI drives, CDROM, RAM, motherboard, floppy
drive, NIC, sound card, CD writer and a whole host of other things.
